EFNDT Seminar: NDT in Railway in Linz

We are currently at the EFNDT Seminar “NDT in Railway” in Linz. The seminar focuses on the modern challenges of non-destructive testing in manufacturing and maintenance of wheels, axles and wheelsets as well as rolling contact fatigue.

On the first day of the event, Dr. Wolfram Deutsch gave a presentation on “Phased Array Ultrasonic and Magnetic Particle Testing of New Railway Wheels in India and Turkey” to the 67 participants.

Non-destructive testing of railway components is one of the key technologies for reliable and sustainable operation of high density and high-quality rail services. The constantly increasing loadings, train speeds, traffic density and environmental conditions require adaptation of design and materials used as well as NDT methods and techniques.
